Fu Yu is widely known for his Graffiti Series and Puppet Series, which reflect his unique insights into the interplay of childhood memories, dreams, and reality. Through these series, he examines the relationship between the individual and society, conveying profound emotional and intellectual tension through his visual art.
Fu Yu’s works are held in several prestigious international collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States, the Kadist Foundation, and the Chinese Cultural and Arts Center in the United States. Additionally, his works are part of the collections of various museums, galleries, and private collectors worldwide. His art has been featured in publications such as FCC First Class Cabin, Contemporary Art, and Art Vanguard and is widely disseminated through major art platforms such as Artron and Today Art Network.
Fu Yu’s creative process is built on two layers of imagery: the inner layer crafted by the artist and the outer layer formed through random contributions by participants. The final artwork emerges from the overlap of these layers, creating a complex and distinctive visual effect. This approach is both simple and profound, using the interplay and interference of the two layers to explore themes such as time and memory. It embodies an artistic expression that seeks to reconstruct reality through the “obscuring of truth.”
Fu Yu continues to refine this method, breaking the boundaries between artist and audience, consolidating collective energy into tangible art pieces, and highlighting the dynamic interplay between artistic form and content.
